However, it seems that the Gers are about to miss out on the Scotland international, who appears to be on the verge of joining Sunderland in League One in England.

According to The Scottish Sun, the 25-year-old has held talks with Sunderland at their training ground over a switch to the Black Cats, who will play in the third tier of English football next season.
Queens Park Rangers, Aberdeen and Blackburn Rovers are also reported to be interested in McGeouch, but Sunderland are claimed to be leading the race.

The 25-year-old Scotland international midfielder made 35 appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Hibernian this past season, providing two assists in the process, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
