Rangers boss Steven Gerrard wants to bring Ben Woodburn to Ibrox.
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is hopeful of signing attacker Ben Woodburn, the Scottish Sun report.
Woodburn is available for loan from Liverpool after a spell at Sheffield United did not provide the game time he needed.
Woodburn would be an excellent signing for Rangers, and become the type of player they thought they were getting last June when they loaned Ovie Ejaria.
Ejaria is Woodburn’s Liverpool under-23 teammate and has since left Ibrox after realising he could not cut it at Rangers.
Rangers bought Ejaria to make an impact in attack, but he could not give them the spark they needed, scoring only two goals in 28 games.
Woodburn is very different. He is a natural goalscorer, netting on both his Liverpool and Wales debuts.
He began as a striker before developing into more of a number 10, also able to play out wide as a winger.
Rangers wanted an attack minded player to contribute behind the strikers, and hoped Ejaria could be that man.
As it turns out, teammate Woodburn could be the player to fill the void.
