Reported Queens Park Rangers target David McGoldrick is claimed to be on trial at Sheffield United.
Back in May, The Sun reported of interest from Queens Park Rangers in David McGoldrick. Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers were also claimed to be interested in the 30-year-old forward, who left Ipswich Town at the end of last season.
It was reported by The Sun in May that QPR were among five clubs interested in securing the services of the former Southampton and Nottingham Forest forward.
However, Rangers look set to miss out on the Republic of Ireland international, with Championship rivals Sheffield United seemingly taking the lead.
According to The Star, McGoldrick will join the Blades on trial and could feature in their pre-season friendly match against Bradford City at Valley Parade this week.
The former Notts County forward will reportedly train with United and will aim to earn a contract with Chris Wilder’s side, who challenged for the Championship playoffs last season.
The 30-year-old would have been a decent signing for QPR, especially as he would have been a free signing, but it seems that the London club could miss out on the former Forest forward.
