Gamble signing?

Burke has been playing well for Shamrock Rovers, but the 24-year-old forward would have been a gamble signing for Forest.

The Reds will be aiming to challenge for the Championship playoffs next season, and Aitor Karanka’s side need players who are proven at this level to make an instant impact.

Given Burke’s failure to break into the Aston Villa first team, Forest should not be too disappointed if they miss out on the 24-year-old forward.
