Newcastle United have now been linked with Wesley, who appears to be a Salomon Rondon alternative.

There may already be worrying signs over Salomon Rondon’s future at Newcastle United, given their links with Wesley in the Chronicle.
Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez has been pushing to sign Rondon from West Bromwich Albion on a permanent deal, after his impressive loan spell at St. James’ Park over the past campaign, as reported by the Daily Star.
However, Mike Ashley is reluctant to bring Rondon in, as he is 29 and has little re-sale value.
And Newcastle already appear to be looking at alternative targets, which suggest that their move for Rondon may not be taking place.
The Chronicle claim that Wesley is now on Newcastle’s radar – and he looks like a potential Rondon replacement.

Wesley is a powerful forward in the same mould as Rondon, and Newcastle surely wouldn’t sign them both in the same transfer window.
Crucially, Wesley is only 22, which may make his transfer far more appealing to the Newcastle board.
The Club Brugge forward has enjoyed a great season in Belgium, where he has scored with great frequency, with Newcastle now making plans to sign him.
And even though Benitez is keen on Rondon, it seems that alternative plans are now being made by the Magpies.
