Are Newcastle United about to stun Sebastien Haller’s agent?

Newcastle United are said to have money to spend in the January transfer window.

Newcastle United may just be able to prove Sebastien Haller’s agent wrong, if reports in the Chronicle about their January plans are to be believed.

Newcastle are said to be interested in signing the powerful forward, as Rafael Benitez assesses his options.

The Eintract Frankfurt striker has hit eight goals in 11 Bundesliga matches this term, making him one of the most in-demand players in Europe.

And his agent, Karlheinz Forster, was quick to suggest to BILD that only top clubs could afford the striker recently.

Forster said: “Such players become only interesting for the top clubs. Manchester City, Liverpool, Real Madrid or Barcelona. Only these clubs can afford them in the future.”

However, if the reports in Chronicle about Newcastle are correct, then they may well have the funds to buy Haller now.

Newcastle are reportedly willing to break their transfer record, which was set way back in 2005, in January.

And if Newcastle do have big money to spend then Haller could well be on their transfer wishlist, as he is said to be Benitez’s top January target by the Northern Echo.
