Three clubs are willing to meet Neymar’s release clause, according to one of his representatives
Barcelona’s Neymar is a wanted man
One of Neymar’s representatives has admitted in an interview with Radio Jovem Pan that there are three clubs who are willing to meet Neymar’s release clause, and according to the Daily Star, Manchester United are one of those parties.
Wagner Ribeiro has said that the three clubs are prepared to pay €200 million (roughly £157 million) for the Barcelona forward.
Neymar is yet to commit his future to the Spanish league and cup winners, despite there being talk of a three year contract extension.
Neymar scored 24 goals last season
And Ribeiro has revealed there is substantial interest in the striker, calling it a ‘sensitive subject’.
“Today there are three big clubs in the world who want to sign Neymar and pay the clause of 200 million euros to Barcelona,” Wagner Ribeiro said.
“I cannot say anything else because it is a sensitive subject.”
PSG are looking for another marquee signing
Whilst Ribeiro did not stipulate who those three clubs were, it seems highly likely that one of them could be French giants Paris Saint-Germain, who have been repeatedly linked with a pursuit of the Brazilian.
With the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the end of the season, PSG are again looking for a star name to lead the Paris brand and there march to Champions League success, something that owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi desperately desires.
But the other two names could be one of many, but with Manchester United expected to spend big under new manager José Mourinho, it also seems highly plausible that they too could be in the running.
Indeed, both United have been linked with a move for Neymar in the past, and according to the Daily Star, the Red Devils are one of those clubs willing to meet the multi-million pound threshold.
Is Mourinho interested in Neymar?
The newspaper also ties in Barcelona rivals Real Madrid as another interested party.
Neymar made 34 appearances last season, scoring 24 goals and making 12 assists.
