The Chelsea star’s future is uncertain, but as Manchester United close in on Romelu Lukaku, West Ham United’s hopes of signing the Belgian could be dented.
The Hammers’ search for an established striker continues to frustrate, as some of Slaven Bilic’s primary targets prove to be illusive.
One of those targets is Michy Batshuayi, according to the Telegraph, but West Ham could very well have been dealt a blow to their hopes of acquiring the Belgian, with Manchester United close to agreeing a deal to sign Everton hitman Romelu Lukaku, beating Chelsea to his signature in the process, according to BBC Sport.

If the 24-year-old does eventually complete his move to Old Trafford, and Chelsea fail to sign another striker, Antonio Conte will obviously be reluctant to sanction Batshuayi’s exit from Stamford Bridge, which will be a bitter pill to swallow for Bilic.
Another problem for the Croatian will be Atletico Madrid’s interest in Diego Costa, with the Guardian reporting that Diego Simeone’s side are preparing an offer for the Spain international.
If the 28-year-old does eventually leave west London, they will almost certainly not sell the Batshuayi, as the former Marseille man would be needed purely to make up the numbers at Stamford Bridge.
And West Ham’s search for a Premier League proven hitman will once again continue from where it began at the start of the summer.
