Leeds United and Wigan Athletic have been named as suitors of the Everton defender.

Leeds United could be about to lose their main rivals in the pursuit of Everton’s Matthew Pennington.
Both Leeds and Wigan Athletic are named by the Yorkshire Evening Post as suitors of the centre-back, who is said to have attracted offers from several Championship clubs.
According to the Sun, however, another player in Pennington’s position looks to be heading to Wigan in a £1 million deal.
The newspaper claims Motherwell are resigned to losing Cedric Kipre to the Latics, who are said to be discussing terms and preparing a medical ahead of the 21-year-old’s arrival.

And with three centre-backs already on the books in Dan Burn, Alex Bruce and Cheyenne Dunkley, Wigan’s need for another one could be satisfied by Kipre – leaving Leeds in pole position for Pennington, who spent the whole of last season on loan at Elland Road from Everton.
Will the Everton defender return to Leeds during this summer’s transfer window?
