Watford must keep their focus against West Ham amid Everton’s advances for their boss.

West Ham are desperate to get off to a strong start in David Moyes’ first game and may be playing their opponents at the perfect time.

The Hammers travel to Watford on Sunday, facing a side who have enjoyed an excellent start to the season.

Now their progress is being plunged into doubt, thanks to Everton.

The Toffees are attempting to lure Watford manager Marco Silva away from Vicarage Road, to fill their current vacancy.

The Telegraph report Everton have made a fourth attempt to hire Silva, offering Watford £10 million, and a £900,000 pay rise to the manager.

Watford are blocking Everton from talking to Silva, but it is unclear how the in-demand manager feels.

This will all be unsettling for Watford, Silva, and the club’s players at an important point of the season.

They have a tough task against a potentially resurgent West Ham this weekend, and they can’t afford not to be at 100 per cent mentally.

The Hammers will go into the game as underdogs, but Watford lost their last fixture in heartbreaking fashion to Everton, and now the Toffees are doing their best to tempt Silva away.

Doubts may be creeping in at the Hornets about whether the manager will end up staying, which Silva will have to answer, but in the mean time it seems Everton have unwittingly done West Ham and their former boss a favour by unsettling their opponents.
