Everton are targeting Uruguay international.

Everton are eyeing a move to sign Lucas Torreira, according to Calciomercato.
Torreira has a fixed release clause of £22 million in his contract at Sampdoria, capping his price.
With the World Cup on the horizon, that is a release, but Everton cannot afford to wait.

Torreira is hoping to feature in Uruguay’s side, and if he does, then interest in him will rise.
The Toffees will find the competition for his signature more intense, and strong performances will help Torreira be able to command higher wages.

With this in mind, if Everton want to move for Torreira, they need to try and close a deal now, before the World Cup kicks off.
This gives the Toffees a fortnight to try and get the deal done, or risk paying more to him on a weekly basis, or missing out altogether.
What they must consider is whether the Uruguayan is worth it.
