Everton are about to sign Cenk Tosun from Besiktas but will he be better for them than Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud would have been?

Tosun will sign a four-and-a-half year deal with the Premier League side when the transfer window reopens on January 1.

This comes after the Toffees again made an attempt to sign Olivier Giroud from Arsenal, having also come close over the summer.
Yet will landing Tosun prove to be the better deal for the Merseyside outfit or will they come to wish that Giroud had eventually ended up at Goodison Park?
The good thing about the latter is that he has experience in the English top flight, scoring 105 goals in 252 games since joining the Gunners in the summer of 2012.

Tosun has never played in England, but does have a similar scoring record in that he has 64 in 142 appearances after arriving at the Istanbul club in 2014.
The 26-year-old is also five years junior to his French counterpart, but then operates in a completely different way to Giroud, dropping deep to involve himself in the buildup rather than operating as a target-man.
