Marco Silva’s Everton side are said to be the front runners for David Neres, and Ajax may well have just signed his replacement.

Everton could have received a boost in their pursuit of David Neres, as Quincy Promes has just signed for Ajax.
The Telegraph claimed that Everton were chasing Neres for £35 million earlier this summer.
And Ajax may well now have just signed Neres’s replacement in the form of Promes.
The pair play in the same position and possess a similar skill-set, which makes Promes looks like a natural replacement for Neres.
Neres is currently at the Copa America representing Brazil, so any transfer to Everton is unlikely to go through any time soon.

But it may be that Ajax are making preparations for the departure of the 22-year-old now.
If Neres was to move to Everton it would be extremely exciting for the Goodison Park crowd, as the youngster scored 12 goals and claimed 15 assists in Holland last term.
