The former Stoke City loanee is well known to Everton’s manager Ronald Koeman.
The Dutchman impressed on loan at the Bet365 Stadium last season and had been due back in the Potteries for a medical on Wednesday [also Sky].
But it is now being claimed that Martins Indi has remained in Porto, with Stoke, Schalke 04 and an unnamed English side among those keen.

So are Everton the mystery bidders?
Martins Indi is, of course, well known to Everton’s manager Ronald Koeman, who managed the 25-year-old for three seasons at Feyenoord and was linked with his services during last summer’s transfer window [Daily Star].
Consider too, that Everton are said to have bid for another Dutch defender, Jairo Riedewald, earlier this week [Liverpool Echo], but look to have lost out to Crystal Palace [Daily Mail].
That Martins Indi can play in both positions commonly frequented by Riedewald – left- and centre-back – should also raise suspicion.

And given the rate of Everton’s summer spending – six major signings secured already – an approach for the former should come as little surprise to anyone.
Should Everton move for Martins Indi, if they haven’t already?
