Everton are on the hunt for a new right-back, with Marco Silva looking for a new additions.

Marco Silva the head coach

Marco Silva may just have hinted that Everton links with Atletico Madrid’s Santiago Arias could spark up again.

Silva has told the Liverpool Echo that Everton are looking to sign a right-back this summer, as they simply cannot have Seamus Coleman as their only option in the position.

“In this moment, and since Jonjoe went on loan to Schalke, it has been a position we want strengthen,” the Portuguese boss said.

“You cannot go through a tough competition like the Premier League with just Seamus Coleman.”

It could now be that Everton re-ignite their interest in Arias, which has gone quiet in recent weeks.

The Liverpool Echo suggested that Everton were interested in Arias earlier this summer, and El Gol Digital suggested that he could cost as much as £35 million.

That price-tag seems a stretch, but Everton may well have a chance at getting Arias.

Atletico Madrid are on the verge of snapping up Kieran Tripper from Tottenham Hotspur, as the Guardian have reported.

If Trippier does make the move to Spain then Arias will surely be demoted even further down the pecking order.

And, with Everton still looking for a right-back, it could be the perfect time for them to move again for Arias.
