Chelsea and West Ham United reportedly want to sign Jamaal Lascelles from Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.

The British tabloid claimed that West Ham are planning a £15 million move for the former Nottingham Forest defender, who earns £40,000 per week as salary at Newcastle, according to Spotrac.com.

However, the Hammers could struggle to secure the services of the 24-year-old, with Premier League giants Chelsea also reported to be interested.
According to The Mirror, Chelsea will make a £30m move for Lascelles – double of what the Hammers are reportedly planning.

Lascelles is one of the best defenders in the Premier League and is a key figure in the current Newcastle team.
If the Magpies do decide to cash in on the former Forest star, then they will sell him to the highest bidder – Chelsea, in this case.
Moreover, the Blues will be a more tempting option for Lascelles, as he will get to compete for the Premier League title and challenge for the Champions League in years to come.
