West Ham United are said to be interested in snapping up Gabriel Barbosa from Inter Milan.

While Gabigol wouldn’t be a direct replacement for Carroll, he would add another striker to Manuel Pellegrini’s pack.
And Carroll’s chances of earning a new contract with him involved would surely be slim.
Carroll spoke to the The Sun last month and suggested that he wanted to stay at the London Stadium.

But he has only been used as a substitute since then, as he still searches to get back to full fitness.
And if Pellegrini does land Gabigol then West Ham may look to go in another direction.
The Brazilian’s arrival would only knock Carroll further down the pecking order for places up-front, and given his expensive contract, it may be that the writing is starting to form on the wall for the England international.
