According to Leeds-Live, Leeds United are chasing a deal for Abel Hernandez, but there must be some concerns over his past wage demands.

It was only two years ago when The Sun claimed that Hernandez demanded £100,000-a-week to join Aston Villa.

Villa, rather understandably refused those terms, and the deal fell through, with Hernandez staying at Hull City.

Since, the Uruguayan has struggled with injury, and he is set to become a free agent this summer.

Hernandez may not have the power to demand exactly the same level of wages as he did in 2016, but if the 28-year-old even wants a quarter of that pay-packet it could be difficult to get a deal over the line.

Leeds’ top earners are believed to be on around £15,000-a-week, and although they may be willing to pay slightly more this summer, they are unlikely to smash their wage ceiling to bring in Hernandez.

And while the links with Hernandez are very exciting, they should be treated with caution by Leeds fans at the moment.
