Knox, who was the assistant manager of Rangers in the 1990s, believes that Steven Gerrard’s side could do with a player like Brown, as the Ibrox club aim to prevent Celtic from winning the Scottish league title nine times in a row.
Celtic have clinched the Scottish Premiership title for the past eight seasons, and the Hoops have also won the domestic treble three years in a row.
Brown has been on the books of the Hoops since the summer of 2007 when he joined from Hibernian for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £4.4 million.

The former Scotland international is one of the best and most combative midfielder, and despite being 33 years of age, he is going strong as ever, and former Ibrox assistant manager Knox believes that Brown is the kind of player that Rangers could do with.
Knox told The Scottish Sun: “I was asked if Rangers could do with someone like Scott Brown, and they certainly could. Brown has won 19 trophies with Celtic, including nine league titles, which is a remarkable achievement.”
