Oteh has committed his future to Queens Park Rangers until 2021, joining fellow youngsters Joe Lumley and Ebere Eze.

Despite not featuring for Queens Park Rangers first-team this season, Aramide Oteh’s new deal signifies an increased faith in developing young players at Loftus Road.

The striker joins Joe Lumley and Ebere Eze in signing new terms this summer and the young trio can push on and start to realise their true potential.

Oteh is not quite at the levels of Lumley and Eze just yet but, given time and the occasional chance by boss Steve McClaren, the 19-year-old can excite QPR fans with his talents.

Those same fans will remember Oteh’s full debut when he scored in a 3-1 win away to Burton Albion last season and the former Tottenham Hotspur youngster will be hopeful of making similar impressions this time round.

From QPR’s perspective, the club are beginning to gain a favourable reputation for trying to manufacture their own and although the FFP has restricted transfer activity, Oteh’s recent reward is deserved and another marker for others to follow.

Paul Smyth and Darnell Furlong are just two examples of young R’s who are out of contract in 2019 but with Oteh, Lumley and Eze all committing their futures, a continued faith in young players will almost certainly convince others to follow suit.
