The Queens Park Rangers youngster has impressed since his surprise Tottenham Hotspur exit.
For those who watch Tottenham Hotspur’s next generation on a regular basis, it came as a surprise when they opted to release Aramide Oteh last season, and the player’s ongoing good form for new club Queens Park Rangers suggests he is doing everything in his power to prove Spurs wrong.
The 19-year-old centre forward has done the business in Tottenham’s academy and was tipped to join the likes of Shayon Harrison and Kazaiah Sterling in pushing for a first-team chance a few years down the line.
Instead, while the latter turned out for Tottenham in the Champions League earlier this month, Oteh was looking ahead to another match for QPR’s under-23s, yet his form for the Championship club at both under-18 and under-23 level suggests he is not letting last season’s disappointment keep him down.
Oteh scored six goals in six starts for QPR’s under-23s last season and he is looking even better this time round, his brace against Watford this week earning the Hoops a share of the spoils in a 2-2 draw.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino will not have made the decision to release Oteh lightly, and other young Spurs prospects will leave in the coming months.
Yet Oteh’s ongoing form at under-23 level suggests he will make his QPR breakthrough sooner rather than later, and when he does so, it will be interesting to see how his career pans out compared with Sterling, Harrison and the like.
