Leeds United appointing Marcelo Bielsa would surely give defender Pontus Jansson all the proof he needs over the Whites’ ambitions.

Marcelo Bielsa could help convince Pontus Jansson to stay at Leeds United, if he is appointed as manager.

Jansson came out and publicly stated how he wanted to see the Whites show some ambition this summer in Afton Bladet, which has put his future in to some doubt.

“I really enjoy Leeds. But I want to see their ambitions, now is the time to get into the Premier League,” Jansson said.

Jansson has been at Leeds for two years now, and he could be forgiven for thinking the club has gone backwards rather than forwards.

However, with Paul Heckingbottom gone, Leeds could prove their ambition by putting Bielsa in charge.

BBC Sport have reported how Leeds are chasing Bielsa, with the Argentine boss their top managerial target, and if he does arrive then Jansson would no longer be able to question Leeds’ ambition.

LOSC Lille coach Marcelo Bielsa looks on before the pre-season friendly match between Atalanta BC and LOSC Lille at Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia on July 26, 2017 in Bergamo, Italy.

Bielsa would be one of the most high-profile bosses in the Championship, after taking charge of the likes of Marseille, Athletic Bilbao and the Argentine national side over the course of his career.

And if all Jansson wants to see is some intent from Leeds, then appointing Bielsa would surely prove to the centre-back, that the Whites mean business.
