Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ben Foster has been discussing the leadership roles in this England team and Harry Kane.
Kane, of course, is the England captain, but he isn’t always the most vocal player on the pitch.
Foster made the case that Jordan Henderson is a better on-field leader than Kane, but he states that he’s heard that Kane is brilliant at leading this team and setting the right examples behind the scenes.

Kane the captain
Foster shared what he’s heard about Kane behind the scenes at England.
“He is that captain you need on the pitch, don’t get me wrong, Harry Kane is our captain and he’s someone everyone will look up to and apparently behind the scenes he is great, but on the pitch Jordan Henderson is the main man. He’s the one who is pointing and shouting and getting everyone going,” Foster said.
Perfect example
Kane may not be as loud as a Roy Keane or a John Terry as a captain, but he leads by example.
Yes, he’s not the most vocal, but his career path so far shows just how hard he has worked every single step of the way, and if players follow that example, they won’t go too far wrong.
He’s a brilliant role model for any young player, and if the standards are kept high in training, the team will benefit on the pitch.
This is an incredibly young England team and it’s vitally important to pass the right sort of mentality down to the next generation and having Kane installed as the skipper will make sure that this generation will have the right sort of attitude going forward.
