With three draws and three defeats since allowing Burke to leave at the end of August, it’s been a tricky run for manager Philippe Montanier.

However, his side served up a strong performance on Friday, as Eric Lichaj put Forest 1-0 up in the first half before Apostolos Vellios notched a second after half time.
Lukas Jutkiewicz pulled a goal back for Birmingham, but Forest restored their two-goal advantage when Hildeberto Pereira scored late on to seal a 3-1 victory.

It was a much needed win for Montanier, which means Forest are now five points off the play-offs, and will be hoping to put a run of results together after picking up that elusive victory.
After the final whistle at the City Ground, Forest players took to Twitter to send messages to supporters, with goalscorers Lichaj and Vellios both posting tweets.

Left back Daniel Pinillos, who has been out with a long-term injury, congratulated his team-mates, whilst young midfielder Matty Cash also celebrated the victory after the game.
