Jose Enrique has agreed with the claim that Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan would ‘fit in’ at Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

The Manchester City midfielder, who netted a brace in the FA Cup final on Saturday, is going to be a free-agent at the end of June.

Liverpool-mad pundit and former left-back, Jose Enrique, thinks Ilkay Gundogan is a ‘world-class’ operator, as he posted on Instagram when talking about players who are out-of-contract this summer.

At 32, Gundogan, as he is proving during these crunch moments of the season, is playing at the top of his game.

That’s why Manchester City are keen to keep him on board beyond this summer, but they are also aware that the likes of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Xavi’s Barcelona want to add him to their books.

Nonetheless, when a Liverpool fan mentioned to Enrique in the comments section of his IG post that ‘Gundogan could fit in at Liverpool’, he issued the following response.

“He could fit anywhere,” said Enrique. “He is a world-class player.”

SHOULD LIVERPOOL LOOK AT GUNDOGAN?

Alexis Mac Allister is taking the headlines, as of this moment, the Brighton star is closing in on a move to Anfield.

But Jurgen Klopp still needs more midfielders for next season, so how about reuniting with Gundogan? If the German is willing to go to Arsenal, who now have to be considered as Man City’s title rivals, then that door has to be open for Liverpool as well.

Either way, if Gundogan does leave the Etihad Stadium after the Champions League final on Saturday, then his next club will be getting a man of serious, serious high quality.
