Jamie Carragher told Super Sunday on Sky Sports that Arsenal’s first-half showing against West Ham was ‘as bad as anything Tottenham have produced’ recently.

Arsenal, who beat Tottenham in the North London derby last week and progressed through in Europe, were 3-0 down to the Hammers inside half an hour.

It was a nightmare start for Mikel Arteta’s men, and whilst they pulled it back in remarkable fashion, it wasn’t pleasant viewing for the supporters.

There must be something about London clubs conceding three goals because Spurs did just that on Thursday as they crashed out of Europe in an unbelievable fashion.

But Carragher made it clear that Arsenal’s first-half showing was as bad as anything that has been thrown at Spurs lately.

“It’s been a brilliant week for Arsenal,” said Carragher. “Beating their biggest rivals last weekend. Going through in Europe and seeing their biggest rivals go out.

“But I can assure you, these first 33 minutes is as bad as anything Tottenham have produced in the last couple of games.”

This recent week has perhaps summed up both Tottenham and Arsenal in a nutshell.

Arsenal going three goals down, making mistakes, losing concentration, playing good football, scoring goals and making a comeback were all summed in that Hammers game.

Whilst Spurs went from this is becoming a disaster of a season to beating Villa on Sunday and being top of the form table during these last five Premier League matches.
