Manchester City are reportedly prepared to sell Ferran Torres to FC Barcelona for well below his valuation in the January transfer window.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the La Liga side can only afford €45m (£38m) for the Spanish international, whilst City were originally demanding €60m (£51m) for the 21-year-old attacker.
However, it appears that the reigning Premier League champions are willing to compromise with Barcelona for Torres, with City open to accepting the £38m offer for the versatile winger when the January market opens for business.
Torres has spent most of the season out on the sideline through injury. However, despite playing a decent amount of football for City since arriving last summer, the youngster is eager to return to Spain, with Barcelona heavily interested in the attacker.
Torres was converted from a wide-playmaker to a false nine under Pep Guardiola. And the Spaniard thrived in the new position. The attacker was one of City’s highest-scoring players last season with 13 goals in all competitions.
Indeed, with a striker a priority for City in 2022, Torres could have been an option in the New Year. But now it looks like the forward will return his homeland for Barcelona, who are signing the attacker on the cheap in the upcoming transfer window.
