Well, Eddie Howe won’t be short of advisors at Newcastle United.

That is because the new Magpies boss has not one, but two assistants at St James’s Park.

Newcastle released a statement on Tuesday evening confirming that all of Steve Bruce’s backroom staff have left the club – including Steve Agnew and Stephen Clemence.

Well, almost all of them.

Graeme Jones has been retained by Howe and he and Jason Tindall will become the 43-year-old manager’s assistants.

It seems quite an unconventional arrangement.

And here’s how some Newcastle fans reacted to Howe having two assistant head coaches under him.

Who cares?

So long as Newcastle start winning games, who really cares about the structure of the backroom staff?

United are 19th in the Premier League and five points adrift of safety.

In other words, the club have far more pressing issues than how many assistants the new manager has on Tyneside.

Howe kicks off his reign as Newcastle boss with a visit of Brentford on Saturday.

With the newly-promoted outfit now struggling in the Premier League, this could and probably should be a first win of the season for the Magpies.

It’s a long road to safety for Howe’s troops.

And if they don’t make it, and slip into the Championship, it won’t be because of how many assistant head coaches there are.
