Aston Villa drew 3-3 with Preston last night in an enthralling Championship encounter.
Anwar El Ghazi has posted a mysterious message on his Instagram story after Steve Bruce decided to leave the winger on the bench as an unused substitute during Villa’s 3-3 draw with Preston.
Villa went 2-0 up in the first half thanks to goals from Jonathan Kodjia and Tammy Abraham, only for James Chester to receive his marching orders in the second half and Preston to take advantage of the red card.
They completely turned the result on its head, with Louis Moult coming off the Preston bench to score a third goal for Alex Neil’s side in the 86th minute. Villa equalised through Yannick Bolasie in the 91st minute.
But the drama was not over, as Glenn Whelan missed a penalty with 96 minutes on the clock. Holland international El Ghazi posted on Instagram after the match, with the caption: “Learn when to be aggressive and when to be patient”.
Despite impressing in his first three appearances for Villa and even scoring against Sheffield United, El Ghazi has now been left on the bench for Villa’s last two Championship matches.
The pressure is huge on Steve Bruce at the moment, with just one win in 10 league and cup outings for the Midlands outfit. They are next in action this weekend against Millwall on Saturday at The Den.
