The midfielder hit a brace as Everton U23s beat their Tottenham Hotspur counterparts.
Everton may have been thrashed by Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League last weekend, but it was the Merseyside club who prevailed when the sides met at U23 level yesterday afternoon.
Tottenham took the lead at Hotspur Way courtesy of a goal from Jack Roles in the second half, but Antony Evans proceeded to hit a brace to inspire Everton to victory, as reported by the club’s official website.
Evans, who can play on either flank or as an attacking midfielder, has produced some excellent performances of late and now has four goals in Premier League 2 this season.
Last season Evans gained valuable experience while representing Morecambe in League Two, although it appears that he will remain at Everton this month, with the possibility that he could go on loan again in the summer.
The 19-year-old is an interesting prospect given his directness and flair and he will hope to continue to impress at U23 level in the remainder of the season as he aims to convince Sam Allardyce that he has the potential to make the breakthrough into the senior squad at Goodison Park in due course.
