Leeds United have made some interesting new acquisitions this summer, perhaps none more so than that of Swedish striker Marcus Antonsson.
He was snapped up from Allsvenskan side Kalmar, where he was the top-scorer in the league prior to his move to Yorkshire.

A talented finisher he has been speaking this week about his hopes for the upcoming season.
Talking to BBC Radio Leeds he made it clear why he joined the club:
“It was actually not a hard decision.
“I know Leeds is a huge club and they belong in the Premier League. I want to be a part of that trip back.
“Everything felt good and it (still) does now.”

He also made it clear that his new team-mates were making him feel very comfortable in his new surroundings:
“They’re really good guys on the team. That makes everything more easy and I am happy here.”
Antonsson is being tasked with adding goals to the Leeds United front-line this season. It will also be hoped that he can push on fellow striker Chris Wood to score on a more regular basis for the club next season.

It is certainly positive to hear that Antonsson has his eyes firmly set on taking Leeds United back to where they belong, the Premier League. The club’s long-suffering fans are of course hopeful that he can achieve his goal by the end of the 2016-17 Championship campaign.
