Tottenham-linked Antonio Rudiger may have already decided to leave Chelsea with the current contract offer £60,000-a-week short of his demands.

That’s according to The Athletic, who claim that Rudiger is demanding £200,000-a-week to stay at Chelsea.

Chelsea aren’t willing to pay that kind of money and are only offering £140,000-a-week with Rudiger’s contract expiring next summer.

Neither Rudiger nor Chelsea are willing to change their stance, and one source claimed that Rudiger has already decided to go.

Rudiger’s advisors have started speaking to potential suitors in what would be a blow for Chelsea.

The 28-year-old has excelled under Thomas Tuchel, becoming one of the Premier League’s top defenders over the last nine months or so.

Do Tottenham really have hope of signing Rudiger?

Tottenham wanted to sign Rudiger in 2020, but he rejected a late move across London.

Hopes of resurrecting a move really gained traction last week. Gianluca Di Marzio claimed that Rudiger is in talks with Tottenham, along with a host of other clubs, ahead of leaving Chelsea.

That would be talks with Rudiger’s representatives rather than the player himself, but a move to Tottenham still seems unlikely.

If Rudiger said no last season, would he be any more likely to say yes this time?

Tottenham are a long way off Chelsea right now, so a move to North London wouldn’t represent a step forward.

Add in the £200,000-a-week demands and it just doesn’t seem likely that Tottenham will come up with a deal to sign Rudiger.
