Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has told Football.London that he is not always fair to Steven Bergwijn.
Conte has said that Tottenham winger Bergwijn deserves to play more, but he has so many other options in attack that the £27 million winger (BBC Sport) does not start regularly.
The Tottenham boss made the comments about the 24-year-old Netherlands international winger following the Premier League match against Leicester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

Conte said about Bergwijn to Football.London: “For me, it’s a bit difficult to keep him on the bench because Steven is maybe the player he should deserve more, but we have to try always a good balance.
“He is a striker, a fantastic striker, but in this position, there is Harry and then Sonny. Deki gives us quality and quantity, and sometimes it’s very difficult.
“For sure maybe I’m giving [Steven] less than he deserves, and I want to be honest. Lucas played a good 50 minutes, and we have to continue in this way and prepare for an important game.”
Uncertain future
In our opinion, Bergwijn does not have a long-term future at Tottenham, and we think that he could leave the North London club in the summer transfer window.
The winger has recently suggested that he could leave Tottenham this summer due to lack of playing time.
Ajax were strongly linked with Bergwijn in the January transfer window, and maybe the Dutch giants will be an option for the winger again in the summer.
Bergwijn has made four starts and 18 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham so far this season.
The winger has scored three goals and given one assist in those games.
