Antonio Conte has made it clear that he is ready to ‘give everything’ for Tottenham after they were drawn up against Chelsea in the League Cup semi-finals.

The Tottenham boss told his post-match press conference, after knocking out West Ham, that it will be a ‘nice’ game to play and he ‘enjoyed’ his time at Chelsea.

When Conte was demanding high standards from the Stamford Bridge touchline, he won the Premier League title and FA Cup during his two seasons at the club.

But he is now in the colours of Spurs and is faced with the task of trying to knock the current European Cup winners out of England’s first winable competition of the campaign.

This is what Conte had to say when his Spurs side were pitted up against Thomas Tuchel’s men.

“For sure, it will be nice and good to play against Chelsea,” said Conte. “I spent two amazing seasons with Chelsea. I enjoyed it a lot.

“But now, I am the manager of Tottenham and I am ready to give everything for this club – now we will see, it will be a good game.”

Chelsea rang the changes for their 2-0 win over Brentford last night and showcased their class despite playing such a young side against a fellow Premier League team.

Even though there is a fixture pile-up and COVID worries, as things stand, the games will be played over two legs.

The first leg will take place at Stamford Bridge, before they lock horns for the decider in north London.

If the powers that be decide that there will only be one leg, then it will be that one-game showdown at the Bridge for Conte and his Spurs players.
