Antonio Conte has told Friday’s press conference – as per Football London – that he is worried Tottenham attacker Dejan Kulusevski could be sidelined until after the World Cup, after the situation with his hamstring injury “worsened”.

Kulusevski, 22, has had a hand in four goals in his nine games for Tottenham this season. But the Swedish talent picked up a muscle injury while with the Sweden national team during the latest break – and has been missing since for Spurs.

He has missed the last six Tottenham matches – two in the Champions League and four in the Premier League. With Richarlison now out for the remainder of October, Spurs are lacking in top-quality options up top. Lucas Mours is fit.

But Conte recently spoke of how they are having to manage Lucas’ workload to keep him available. Now, Conte shared concerns that Kulusevski could actually be unavailable until after the World Cup. Here is what he said:

“Yeah,” Conte said, when asked if he is worried Kulusevski could miss the World Cup – as per Football London. “His recovery was going well and then one day the situation worsened. When this happens you have to restart.

“You need time, you need time. We have the medical department to face injury situations and they have to face it in a short period. If you are good to solve it in a quick way then it can mean points,” Conte continued.

What a blow it would be for Tottenham to lose one of their most-creative sources for the next month. His goals, his assists and his power from the right flank has perfectly complimented both Harry Kane, and Son Heung-min.

Spurs will be hoping to get Kulusevski over the most-recent setback and back to full fitness as soon as possible. Especially, given it is a nice run of fixtures until the World Cup break. They still have seven games to play until then.

Newcastle, then Sporting Lisbon next week. Following that, Bournemouth and Marseille in their final group game. An under-par Liverpool, a Carabao Cup clash against Djed Spence’s old side Forest and then struggling Leeds United.
