Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has told Football.London that Ryan Sessegnon has a bright future ahead of him.

Conte made the comments about Sessegnon following Tottenham’s 1-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Sessegnon, who can operate as a left-back, left wing-back or left-winger, did not start the match, but the £30 million signing from Fulham in the summer of 2019 (Football.London) came on as a substitute for Ivan Perisic in the 76th minute.

Tottenham boss Conte was pleased with how the 22-year-old English youngster played against Wolves.

Conte told Football.London about Sessegnon: “I was really pleased with the impact of Ryan Sessegnon.

“For Sess, who is playing well this season it is very very important to have a player in front of you like Ivan. In front of him Sess has a great career, and I think for Ivan was the same as the rest of the team. “

Huge praise

In our opinion, Antonio Conte’s aforementioned comments on Ryan Sessegnon underline how highly the Tottenham Hotspur head coach rates him.

Conte did not have to be so effusive in his praise of the youngster, but that he was so forthcoming indicates how he much he likes the defender.

Sessegnon has had injury problems in recent years, and that has affected his development, but he is now fit and available.

Working with Conte and learning from Perisic will only help Sessegnon develop and improve his game in the coming weeks and months.
