According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, the new Newcastle owners want to appoint former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss Conte as the manager.
Steve Bruce is in charge of the Magpies now, but Conte is the new owners’ number one managerial target.

Conte is one of the best managers in the world and has a proven record.
The Italian has won league titles with Inter Milan, Juventus and Chelsea.
Another point to note is that Conte is available now.
The 52-year-old left Inter in the summer of 2021 after winning the Serie A title last season.
Newcastle would not have to pay compensation fee for Conte or have to enter negotiations over any club.
Now, of course, Conte will need assurances that Newcastle will build for the future and will aim to compete for the Champions League places and the Premier League title.
After all, Conte is a winner.
