Antonio Conte has told Tuesday’s press conference in South Korea – as per Football London – that Tottenham are still in the market for more signings despite already clocking up five additions at this early stage.
Richarlison is the club’s marquee signing of the summer, costing a whopping £60million. Yves Bissouma has joined from Brighton for £30million, Clement Lenglet from Barcelona on loan – and freebies Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster.
Before the window, Conte wanted a back-up goalkeeper, a right wing-back, a left-sided centre-back, a left wing-back, a midfielder, an attacking midfielder and cover for Harry Kane. Steven Bergwijn has left the club.

A right wing-back remains on the agenda and Djed Spence could be that man. Spurs may want to replace Bergwijn. Asked about summer transfers, Conte said that more signings could be made if the right opportunity emerges.
“It was good to sign five players quickly and now we’ll see. We’re always looking to strengthen the squad if there is the opportunity. We want to improve numerically. To play four competitions is difficult and you need a really good squad.
“It will be a really demanding season but I’m sure we want to enjoy it, play four competitions and be competitive in every competition. Then we’ll see in two months, if there is the possibility to strengthen the squad, then we’ll do it.”
Conte: Tottenham still in market for more signings
The links to Christian Eriksen also suggest a playmaker could be brought to the club. That is, even if Conte prefers to play with two defensive-minded midfielders in his 3-4-3 system. But a right wing-back is high on the agenda.
Spence is likely to be that man. But Spurs may also want another attacker after losing Bergwijn. Outgoings are more likely, in the form of Sergio Reguilon, Harry Winks, Gio Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele – who were left at home.
