Tottenham are now reportedly willing to be patient with Bryan Gil’s development, with Antonio Conte believing the winger has a future at the club after impressing with Valencia.

According to the Daily Star, the north London side are happy with how Gil is performing out on-loan this season, with the Spaniard returning to his home country in January on a short-term deal after failing to adapt to life in England.

Since signing for Valencia, Gil has been one of La Liga’s best performing players, with the Spanish giants now keen to sign the playmaker for an additional year on loan, and this is a request that could be granted by Tottenham.

As per the report, Spurs are delighted with how the 21-year-old is performing with Valencia, with Conte willing to be patient with his development and the club still viewing Gil as a player for the future.

With Spanish publication El Desmarque labelling one of Gil’s Valencia performances as ‘magical’, the Tottenham-owned talent is flourishing in this half of the season following a campaign to forget in England.

Gil already looked like a flop of a signing after being brought in by Nuno Espirito Santo last summer, yet at Valencia, the Spanish international has looked like a new man since returning to Spain, much to the relief of Tottenham.

Tottenham must allow Gil to spend another year with Valencia

It is perhaps obvious to suggest that Gil looks ready to return to Tottenham next season, however, another year with Valencia could be the more perfect idea for the talented Premier League prospect.

After all, whilst Conte now has plans for Gil in Tottenham’s future, it is likely that the Italian will want to use the winger later on in his time with Spurs, and with the winger flourishing with Valencia, a return next season seems the best fit for all parties involved.
