Antonio Conte has told Tuesday’s press conference that Tottenham will be without Japhet Tanganga and Oliver Skipp ahead of Wednesday’s trip to take on Burnley, but will count on Harry Kane, and maybe Sergio Reguilon.
Spurs come into the match after Saturday evening’s stunning 3-2 win over Manchester City, which saw Harry Kane score moments after Riyad Mahrez equalised for Pep Guardiola’s side in injury time at The Etihad.
The result was much-needed, re-injecting some life into Tottenham’s fading top-four hopes. But they need to back that win up, with three points away at struggling Burnley on Wednesday night – a game, just as crucial as Saturday.
Conte spoke ahead of Wednesday night’s clash – confirming reports from earlier on Tuesday that Skipp is not being rushed back, after an infection to a groin injury. He also confirmed that Tanganga would not be available.
However, Conte dismissed concerns that Kane could be missing after suffering a knock to his back – claiming he will play even with one leg. Conte also stated that left-back Reguilon could be involved.
“Harry had a hit on his back but he has to play. Even if he has one leg, he has to play. He is good. Harry knows his importance to the team,” Conte said. “Skipp and Tanganga, they are recovering.
“They’re still not ready for the game against Burnley. Sergio, in the training session yesterday he wasn’t present and we’ll see today. I think the situation is the same after the last game. We hope they can all recover soon.”

Conte update: As long as Tottenham have Kane, they have a chance
While it would have been nice to beef his defensive options on the bench with Tanganga, and ideally giving Skipp 30 minutes off the bench, it is not the end of the world to face Burnley without both Englishmen.
Ryan Sessegnon was excellent against Manchester City and he is likely to retain his place in the Spurs starting line-up. But as long as Spurs have Kane, after Saturday’s outing, they have a chance against anyone.
