Antonio Conte has told Friday’s press conference – as per Football London – that Rodrigo Bentancur and Lucas Moura will return from injury to be a part of the Tottenham squad that takes on Everton, on Monday night.

Spurs come into the game after a dismal FA Cup exit to Championship side Middlesbrough – losing 1-0 at the Riverside. It comes after a superb 4-0 win over Leeds United, which in turn saw Marcelo Bielsa sacked by Leeds.

Spurs’ inconsistent form is nothing new – having recently beaten Manchester City, only to lose 1-0 at Turf Moor against Burnley. But ahead of hosting Everton, Conte has confirmed he will welcome back two key stars.

Lucas and Bentancur are fit again and Conte confirms both will be a part of the matchday squad for Monday night’s clash. However, more long-term concerns remain regarding Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga.

“Bentancur is available. Same for Lucas Moura. Skipp and Tanganga not available.” On Skipp, he said: “He’s still not ready. Groin pain. He’s fighting. He could recover before but something was wrong. We have to wait.”

The return of both players relieves some pressure on some of Tottenham’s over-used players. Harry Winks and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg have started the last two matches, including 120 minutes against Middlesbrough.

Conte must decide if Bentancur is fit enough to start and if he is, which of the aforementioned duo he should rest – likely to be Winks, after his dire performance on Teesside. Up top, Lucas could see Dejan Kulusevski rested.
