Everton and Liverpool have been credited with an interest in Antonio Adan.

Real Betis goalkeeper Antonio Adan has told Spanish newspaper AS that he did receive offers to leave this summer – and the report claims that Everton and Liverpool were interested.
Adan, 29, came up through the ranks with hometown club Real Madrid having joined the club at the age of just ten, but he failed to make the grade at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Making an impact behind Iker Casillas was always going to be a struggle for Adan, and he eventually moved on to Italian side Cagliari in 2013 in search of first-team football – but made just two appearances before heading back to Spain in January 2014.
Intriguingly, Adan has been a star for Real Betis since his move, and his performances for the Andalusian club appear to have attracted interest during the summer transfer window.

AS report that Everton, Liverpool and Napoli were all interested in signing Adan, who missed just two La Liga games last season in an impressive campaign.
When asked about the situation, Adan admitted that he did receive offers over the summer – but none of them were as good as the chance to stay with Betis and continue as their first-choice goalkeeper.
“There were offers, but nothing better than Betis,” admitted Adan, who may not have been first-choice had he moved somewhere else.

Both Everton and Liverpool did sign goalkeepers this summer, with the Toffees landing Maarten Stekelenburg whilst Jurgen Klopp’s Reds snapping up both Loris Karius and Alex Manninger.
If either side did really make an approach for Adan, it would surely have been as a backup option to top their transfer targets, as whilst he’s enjoyed success with Betis, the rest of his career leaves a lot to be desired – and the two sides almost certainly signed better goalkeepers this summer anyway.
