From West Ham defender past to present.

Reece Burke was West Ham’s matchwinner last night as he scored a crucial goal to book their place in the FA Cup fourth round.
The defender scored the goal which decided the game against Shrewsbury in their replay at the London Stadium.
Former Hammers academy and first team defender Anton Ferdinand congratulated Burke after the centre-back posted a message on Twitter.
Burke has been threatening to break into West Ham’s first team for a couple of years now, but has had to make do with loan spells.
He has been sent to Bradford City, Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers with various degrees of success, but now could finally be his time to make his mark at West Ham.

Competition for places is fierce in David Moyes’ defence, with Angelo Ogbonna, James Collins, Winston Reid and when fit Jose Fonte all available, and teammate Reece Oxford is also battling for opportunities.
Burke did his chances no harm at all last night and West Ham’s qualification to the next round could provide him with another opportunity.
