Harry Kane is renowned for his all-round play; his aerial ability just one of the Tottenham star’s weapons. Clearly, Antoine Griezmann has taken notice, screaming his name after scoring past Hugo Lloris in France training.
Kane, 28, has been on fire of late – shining under Antonio Conte in a Spurs shirt before taking his tally of England goals to 49 – surpassing Gary Lineker and equalling Bobby Charlton with a penalty against Switzerland.
His quality in front of goal is rubbing off on even the best players. Griezmann is one of France’s best, as he remains on loan at Atletico Madrid from Barcelona. In training, Griezmann shows his appreciation.
In a two-minute video posted on France’s YouTube, Griezmann heads home a cross with pinpoint accuracy and power past Kane’s teammate Lloris. He then jogs off celebrating, screaming “Harry Kane” – 35 seconds in.
Griezmann shouts Kane: Tottenham star clearly one of world’s best
Is Kane the best centre-forward in world football? Robert Lewandowski and Karim Benzema would certainly argue that fact, but they are playing in teams that dominate leagues – Bayern and Real Madrid both currently top.
Kane is doing it for Tottenham who sit in fifth place, a side that have sat as low as eighth in recent weeks. Not only that, but he offers more dropping deep and contributing to play. Kane is like having two players on the pitch.
