The transfer window may have only just shut but Manchester United are already being linked with their next big transfer swoop.

This week it has been reported that United have Antoine Griezmann of Atletico Madrid in their sights for the winter.

The French forward is apparently the number one target for Jose Mourinho – in what would be a mega move to partner up with his French international team-mates Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial.

However, the Frenchman has spoken to the press in France this weekend about his future at Atletico.

He made it clear that the only way he would leave for Manchester United, or anyone for that matter, would be if his current boss Diego Simeone left the Vicente Calderon. He told Telefoot:

“The only doubt would be if Simeone leaves for PSG or wherever.

“I called him before extending my contract and he confirmed to me that he was staying. I can learn a lot from him.”

Manchester United currently have world-class options up front in both Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. However, neither are getting any younger and Griezmann could be seen as a potential future option for United.
