Brighton and Hove Albion winger Anthony Knockaert has claimed that the club aren’t scared of anyone in the Championship ahead of their upcoming clash with Leeds United, as reports the Brighton Argus.

Out of Brighton’s remaining nine fixtures, Leeds are the only team in the top eight that they will have to face, and the Seagulls have an outstanding chance of claiming the title.

As it stands, Brighton are level on points with Championship table toppers Newcastle United, but are behind on goal difference as the season approaches the final stretch.

Heading into the final run, star man Knockaert – who has 13 goals and seven assists this season – is adamant that the club fear no-one, knowing full well that their fate is in their own hands, and that while the Leeds game will be tough, it’s just another day at the office – nothing more.

“They are all big games but as I said before we played Reading and Newcastle, for us it’s just a normal game”, the 25-year-old said, as reported by the Brighton Argus.

“I’m not lying when I say that. It doesn’t matter where they are in the league, it’s just about us. If you look at the table now it’s in our hands. If we keep winning and do things right, there’s no reason why we won’t be there at the end of the season.”

“That’s what we are fighting for and we’re not scared of anyone. It would be shameful to be scared of someone in this league, especially with what we have achieved in the last two years. We are in a great position and it’s up to us now to keep it going.”

Leeds have had an excellent season and find themselves in fourth position, 11 points behind Brighton, in what should make for an excellent encounter at the weekend.

Brighton will also go into the match knowing exactly what they’ll need to do, as Newcastle face an away trip to Birmingham City a few hours before the Seagulls kick off.
