Anthony Kim responded to Brooks Koepka’s PGA Tour return with a blunt message to critics.

The return of Brooks Koepka to the PGA Tour made a lot of waves, as the former LIV Golf star made the surprising decision to jump ship.

Koepka — who left the PGA Tour for LIV Golf in 2022 — announced this week that he would be rejoining the US-based circuit, taking advantage of new policies that allow former LIV players to return under certain conditions.

Anthony Kim says Brooks Koepka earned the freedom to choose

LIV Golf’s Anthony Kim has offered a typically blunt response to Brooks Koepka’s return to the PGA Tour, saying the five-time major winner has earned the right to make his own decisions.

In a post on X, Kim dismissed the debate surrounding Koepka’s decision to leave LIV Golf and rejoin the PGA Tour.

“Lotta people talkin about (Brooks Koepka’s) situation,” he wrote. “Pretty simple (s—). Win a bunch of majors, make a bunch of cash, & you get to do what you want, end of story. If you don’t like it, win a bunch of majors. 1% BETTER.”

Kim’s message highlighted a core belief that long-term achievement and performance at the highest level give players like Koepka the autonomy to shape their own paths.

The reaction also underscored how Koepka’s move has divided opinion across professional golf. Some fans view his PGA Tour comeback as a positive step toward unity in the sport, while others have questioned the fairness of allowing former LIV Golf players to return under new policies.

Brooks Koepka’s decision sparks debate across professional golf

Brooks Koepka’s return has reignited discussion over player freedom, loyalty, and competition between golf’s rival tours.

For Anthony Kim, however, the situation is straightforward: consistent winners earn their leverage. His comment aligns with the mindset that performance, not politics, should define a player’s opportunities.

The 40-year-old, who made his own high-profile comeback through LIV Golf, has become one of the league’s most outspoken figures.

His social media posts often reflect a confidence that mirrors his peak playing years, when he was one of the sport’s most dynamic talents before stepping away for more than a decade.

While Kim’s remark was brief, it captured a sentiment shared by many professionals — that players who deliver results have earned the right to decide where and how they compete.
