Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers pulled off a sixth summer signing this week.
Anthony Gerrard has congratulated George Edmundson on his long-awaited move to Rangers.
Gers boss Steven Gerrard completed his sixth deal of the summer on Friday by signing the 21-year-old defender from Oldham Athletic.
Rangers had seen two bids rejected by the English side for their young centre-back, but the Ibrox outfit finally got their man.
Gerrard, whose cousin is the iconic Liverpool legend, played with Edmundson down South, and the 33-year-old is thrilled for his former team-mate.
Edmundson is exactly what the light Blues’ manager looks for in a centre-back.
Not only is he young and a very exciting prospect, Edmundson, at 6’3, is a towering figure, much like Connor Goldson, Gareth McAuley and Nikola Katic, other central defenders that Gerrard has recruited.
It’s a fabulous signing, but there might be an adjustment period. There’s a huge difference between playing for the League Two side and Rangers, as the man himself will find out soon enough.
