Anthony Georgiou has signed a new deal at Tottenham Hotspur and has taken to Twitter to comment on the contract.

Tottenham midfielder Anthony Georgiou has taken to Twitter to express his delight after signing his new contract with the club that is set to keep him tied down until 2020, as confirmed on Spurs’ official website.

Georgiou is one of a number of exciting youngsters looking to break into Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team on a more regular basis.

The 20-year-old made his professional debut for Spurs this season, coming on for the final five minutes or so in their Champions League group stage clash with APOEL Nicosia, which, of course, was a game that took place in Cyprus, the country Georgiou has represented at youth level.

And the youngster – who has featured regularly for the under-23 side this term – has been rewarded for his progress, with the club confirming on their official website that he has signed a new contract that will run until 2020.

And to celebrate the news, Georgiou took to social media to comment on the new contract.

The news has been met with overwhelmingly positive reaction on Twitter, with many of the fans excited for the midfielder’s prospects in the coming years, which is hardly a surprise given that Pochettino has shown since arriving at Spurs that the pathway to the first-team is there for every youngster if they work hard enough.
