The Tottenham Hotspur youngster came off the bench against Apoel Nicosia.

Tottenham Hotspur youngster Anthony Georgiou has been speaking to the club’s official website after he made his debut against Apoel Nicosia on Tuesday evening.
The 20-year-old came off the bench for the last six minutes, with Tottenham leading 3-0 in their latest Champions League clash, and it will be a night the midfielder never forgets.

“It feels amazing to make my debut and to do it in the Champions League as well is a dream come true, really,” Georgiou told tottenhamhotspur.com.
“It’s amazing to get to play with quality players like this and to get a chance here is something you have to work really hard for.”
You certainly do, with some Tottenham youngsters getting an opportunity that has not been afford to others of late.
The omission of Marcus Edwards in favour of the likes of Georgiou and Tashan Oakley-Boothe has got plenty of Tottenham fans talking, and one wonders just what the former has done to fall out of favour just when it was expected he would be making real waves in the first-team.

Whatever the reason, his under-23 teammate Georgiou has clearly bought into the manager’s ethos, working hard in training, impressing with the second string and seizing whatever chances comes his way.
Talent is not enough to earn you a place in this Tottenham side; hard work is vital and Georgiou’s words should be heeded by the next set of players hoping to follow in his footsteps.
